Our History Project – June 6th, 1944

This week we celibrate the 65th Anniversary of the Invasion of Normandy (D-Day) and remember those who were there and those who have fallen there.

Our guest this week is Colonel Spencer Wurst, who made the jump that faithful day with the 82nd Airborne. He was part of Company F of the 505 Parachute Infantry Regiment. He made three of the four combat jumps, dropping into Italy, Normandy and Holland.

He along with his niece Gayle Wurst co-Authored a book entitled “Descending from the Clouds”. An autographed copy f the book can be obtained by contacting Princeton International Agency for the Arts, LLC., 626 Brickhouse Rd., Princeton NJ, 08540. Phone (609) 252-9278 or by email: prinart@aol.com.
Join us as Col. Wurst remembers his eventful day of June 6th, 1944.

“In the Dirt With American Digger”

We thought we would change it up a little this week. Butch and I had so much to talk about that we gave him his own spot and his own day.

This show will be released on Wednesday June 10th.

I did include some cuts of our show in this episode with Col. Wurst. That being said, the first person who can guess what Our History Project’s “In the Dirt with American Digger” is about will receive a copy of the bookThe Education of Chauncey Doolittle” by James Everett Kibler. My review can be found on Our History Project Book Review Blog as well as Amazon.com.

To win, be the first one to email me craiganderson@ourhistoryproject.com and tell me what the main topic will be. It’s a hard one folks, the clues are there, so listen to win.

We are updating

In March of this year we have moved servers and are in the process of moving all of our audio over to our own. It was due to excessive rising cost and the lowering of service that prompted this move. Please bear with us as we make this transition. If there is a show you are looking for and do not see here as of yet, feel free to contact us and we can get you a direct download link.
