OUR MESSAGE BOARD IS UP AND GOING
The Our History Project message board is now up and ready for anyone to join and discuss History. I have tried to make the categories easy to navigate and view. As always please give me some feed back on what works and what doesn't.

The main site names have been bought ourhistoryproject.com, .net, .org and .us.
For those who are unfamiliar with the concepet of this project:
Our History Project is a weekly show (podcast) that will take history and make it his - story. We will focus on the story behind the story, capturing history from firsthand accounts, when possible, and bring to light what impact those decisions made in their life. We know the history, we can see the facts, now let’s hear the influence of those events by the people who were there. Our goal is preservation; we want to preserve these memories for the ages, or in the immortal words of Author and Poet, Joseph Rudyard Kipling – “Least we not forget.”
As researchers we are always excited and are in fact looking for those journals, writings and daybooks to give more insight into our history. A record that may give way to a details left out of the mainstream documentation. A case in point – We know during War Between the States in the Atlanta Campaign 1865, troop movements, battles and skirmishes happened. We know the dates, days and times. However, it takes the personal writings in journals to understand the hardships faced – food, water, shelter – what did they do to survive? It’s those personal accounts that bring the reality to our family and our nation. It is those events that shaped our time and our country. It is these accounts that we want to persevere.
Along the way we will make many stops at some likely and unlikely places. We will learn about the small towns; have guided tours through National Historic and Local Historic places. We will find out some of the behind the scene activities and learn some of those unknown facts about the people and places.
We will also explore places where you can dig up more research information. We will tour the local, state and federal achieves and interview the managers and curators. We will talk to other historians, archeologists and researchers, and in the process try and help you find more tools that will aid you in your research.
We will strive to maintain these files so that they are available for free and can be heard and/or downloaded from any computer worldwide. We will make every effort to work with current and future historical orginizations on projects that has a place and bearing on our history. We will also strive to give to any Archieves that want them (requests) hard copies (CD(s) or DVD(s)) of the show each year. Our main goal is preservation. To preserve these memories forever and actually have widely available access to these files.
This project is 100% funded by Members, Supporters and Sponsors. You do not have to pay any fees to be a part of this community. We do ask that you keep an eye and ear out for us for people and businesses who you think would support our project and the preservation of these histories. I will be glad to speak to individuals, groups or business who you think will show an interest. You may contact me by sending me mail here on the forum. We are currently applying for corporation status with the State of Georgia and will be perusing Non Profit Status 501 (c) (3).

About Us
Our History Project, Inc. is a National Non-Profit Organization based in McDonough, GA. Our Mission and Vision is the Preservation and Education of Our United States History.
We are updating
In March of this year we have moved servers and are in the process of moving all of our audio over to our own. It was due to excessive rising cost and the lowering of service that prompted this move. Please bear with us as we make this transition. If there is a show you are looking for and do not see here as of yet, feel free to contact us and we can get you a direct download link.
